A company that was built in response to demands of clients. A company with an insurgent attitude and approach in its DNA.

This business was originally started by accident. Our founder, Sergio Zyman wrote his first book The End of Marketing As We Know It to chronicle what he had learned from thousands of people at The Coca-Cola Company where he was the first Chief Marketing Officer—people who grew the business from 9 to 15 billion cases in a few short years and changed the face of the company forever. Then the calls started from CEOs and CMOs who wanted some of that marketing discipline, insurgent attitude and business success for themselves. But who needed another consulting company? Weren’t they all in trouble?

Sure they were. But maybe there was a good reason for that. Maybe they were all too set in their ways. Marketing is not an island unto itself. Marketing must work across functions to generate growth—that’s why our mantra has been that the purpose of marketing is to “sell more stuff to more people more often for more money more efficiently.™”

Marketing is a scientific discipline. It all boils down to this: Selling more stuff. We’ve always taken an aggressive view of how marketing gets that done.

From its beginning, Zyman Group was built upon a solid foundation of elite marketing practitioners and seasoned business strategists who believed that there was a better way to do marketing—better than the old ways that had stagnated and become too dependant on advertising and brand awareness.

Since 1999, Zyman Group has delivered profitable growth and proven business-building results for clients across numerous industries. We have continually transformed our company to meet the challenges today and into the future. In early 2008, Zyman Group acquired Core Strategy Group, led by our Chairman and CEO Scott Miller and DMG Consulting, led by our Vice-Chairman David Morey. The integration of the hard-core insurgent model and the principles they codified in their book The Underdog Advantage with the disciplined approach to marketing that we had developed since 1999 has sharpened the ability of Zyman Group to provide speed, clarity and impact to help clients win.
